Quote of the Day by Jay-Z

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

“Some said Hov, how you get so fly?
I said from not being afraid to fall out the sky!”
~Jay Z~

One of the biggest fears most people have is a fear of failure. Living your life afraid to fail and to make mistakes will not get you very far in life. No matter who you are hurdles, frustration, failures and mistakes will stand between you and the things you want most in life. What matters is what you decide to do when these things arrive.

We must fail in order to succeed and the best way to look at is is that every failure is another way not to do something. You will gain powerful experience through failure and If you apply your focus correctly failure will allow you to more intelligently begin again. Those who live life at its highest levels fail far more than those who are just mediocre. They have the determination to look at adversity with the belief that it can’t stop them.

So what are you afraid of? Is that fear holding you back from your goals and dreams? What are you gonna do about it?

Quote of the Day by Magic Johnson

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

“If somebody says no to you, or if you get cut, Michael Jordan was cut his first year, but he came back and he was the best ever. That is what you have to have. The attitude that I’m going to show everybody, I’m going to work hard to get better and better.”
~Magic Johnson~

You see a lot of quotes from me related to attitude and the way we approach failure. I do this on purpose because I know that no matter who you are we are going to have our ups and our downs. I want to make sure everyone knows that when we have those downs it is unacceptable to stay there. We must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and look in the direction we want to go. In short, we must Arise!

Quote of the Day by Gordon Parks

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

“The guy who takes a chance, who walks the line between the known and the unknown, who is unafraid of failure, will succeed.”
~Gordon Park~

Taking the leap from what we know into an area we don’t know is often a very uncomfortable step. With that said if we try to live our lives within the boundaries of the comfortable we will no doubt live our lives with little to no growth.

When we operate inside our comfort zone much more times than not we will succeed within the confines of that box. Doing 5 pushups would be easy for most of us but we won’t build any muscles doing them. Its not until we push ourselves to our outer limits that we begin to build strength. It works for exercising your physical muscles and it will do the same for your mental, spiritual and emotional muscles as well.

Now when pushing yourself to your limits you will no doubt come across temporary failure. But its just that, temporary. If we change the way we look at it and realize that temporary failure was put there as a learning experience, then we will most certainly more intelligently try again. What turns that temporary failure into permanent failure is when you decide to quit. But I know there are no quitters here…so go out and take some chances today…go out and succeed!!! LETS GO!!!

Michael Jordan

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
~Michael Jordan~

Last nights Yankees World Series win got me thinking about champions.  Michael Jordan is probably the greatest sports hero of our generation.  He found his success despite multiple failures throughout his career.  The rest is history.

Are you going to let little things like struggle or temporary failure get in the way of your success?  Or will you use these things as opportunities for growth like all the greats throughout history have.  There is only one right answer!  Choose Wisely!

Jay-Z

“Some said HOV, how you get so fly…
I said from not being afraid to fall out the sky…”
~Jay-Z!

We live in a society that often discourages failure.  The thing is…most people who reach great heights in this life do so in part because they are not afraid to fail.  They fail far more times then the average person.  The difference is they know how to handle failure.  They understand that it is only temporary and that they must learn from it.  They use those temporary setbacks to more intelligently begin again, and it is because of this they learn to earn their dreams!
